Word from March 27, 2023 | Originally released by Truth-Justice-Mercy on April 21, 2023

Good morning friends,

The following word concerning Africa is something that the Father has been birthing in me since July 15th of last year.

Wow. (Full stop. Changing course here.)

Sometimes when I’m in the middle of typing, the Lord just takes me in a whole different direction than I thought I was going. So, as I wrote “birthing” in that first sentence just now, I suddenly felt compelled to stop and count the months (on my fingers, of course!). From the time He placed that seed in me in July of last year to when He spoke the below message on March 27th was 8.5 months. So, by the time this is all finalized and ready for release, we will be "at term" – 9 months. He never ceases to amaze me!

During those months of anticipating this word, I knew something important was brewing. I even understood what the general theme would be but had no idea of the specifics, and I could just sense that this was one message that I was going to have to wait for.

So, with that, I will first give you a little backstory and then the word of the Lord. Praise God. He is bringing freedom to the nations!

I BLESS THE RAINS DOWN IN AFRICA

Friday July 15, 2022 and subsequent weeks

I was in a restaurant with my husband for a lunch date, and they were playing artsy renditions of classic pop songs. The song Africa rang out and took precedence over everything else going on in that room for what seemed like a protracted length of time (at least as far as I was concerned), so I knew the Lord was going to be speaking to me on Africa.

Over the course of the next week, I heard that song EVERYWHERE I went – our local grocery store, Dollar Tree, doctor, even Walmart. I’d never even noticed they played pop music at Walmart before… just promotional jingles and such. But no… they play Africa. And, did you know that they also turn up the volume so loud on that particular song so that it stops you in your tracks and permeates your entire being? No? Well, again, maybe that was just me (lol!).

I sensed that the message was something good… something that was about to shift, something that was going to change the trajectory of that continent – spiritually, economically, and in their standing amongst the lineup of nations. I sensed that they would no longer be “the oppressed ones.” But I didn’t have a word, as such. I heard the names Uganda, Djibouti, and Lesotho a few times in my spirit. And, I still didn’t really know the lyrics to the song, so I found myself humming on repeat:

“I guess it rains down in Africa…” (Please feel free to have a laugh at my expense, lol.)

Week of February 19, 2023

Fast-forward to February, when the Lord began dropping Africa into my heart again…

Monday:

In the wake of the news about the Asbury Revival, I was thrilled to also stumble upon headlines describing a nationwide revival going on in Uganda! Again, I began humming the line from the song, wrong words and all.

Tuesday:

My phone kept getting hung up while listening to my Bible in French. So, it asked me if I’d like to change the narrator. “Sure.” And, as it turned out, the only other choice was African French (which is MUCH easier to understand, by the way).

Wednesday:

Okay, so sometimes it really takes me awhile before I catch on, but today as I listened to my African French Bible reading, I finally “got” that the Lord was trying to shift my focus once again to (drumroll)

Africa!

Within minutes of this “aha” moment, I walked past our guestroom, where my husband was sprawled out on the bed reading a book with the word AFRICA jumping out at me in big, bold, all caps letters from the cover!

So, I decided it was time to finally get around to looking up that song line I’d been singing incorrectly all along…

“I BLESS the rains down in Africa!”

Ha, ha! Yes, Lord, truly You are getting ready to pour out rains of blessing upon that land!

Monday March 27, 2023 – 5:00 pm

And then, today during a time of seeking the Father, He finally spoke that message to me on Africa:

“Africa –

You will no longer be called the tail, for you shall be the head. No longer will you be exploited or robbed. No longer will you be the slaves, nor shall you any longer be the laughing stock. For, I am raising you up in riches and power, and I am setting the captives free. The bondwoman and the slave – I will no longer tolerate such a thing!

For, it is time for all men everywhere to call upon the Name of the LORD.

The Horn of Africa –

You shall be My mouthpieces, declaring My good works and My righteousness before the world and before kings of the earth. YOU shall be the senders of truth. From YOUR shores shall ring out the cry to the nations of our God. A horn, indeed.

Your deserts shall produce streams of living water. Fruit shall crop up from strange places, and a cry shall come forth from the savanna of the goodness of God. From your mountains shall flow riches and abundance that no one will steal away from you. No longer will you work for nothing, but you shall take pride in ownership of the land. Your work will become a joy to you, and all who see you will call you blessed.

For, you shall call upon MY Name and declare MY greatness. The laws of your lands will change to reflect this. Bondage and corruption will be wiped away like a clean slate for you to rebuild upon. Choose very wisely as you set up your governments and your laws!! Seek MY face, and I will show you what to do.

Indeed, I WILL bless the rains… down in Africa.”

So, Wikipedia has this to say about the Horn of Africa:

“Located on the easternmost part of the African mainland, it is the fourth largest peninsula in the world. It is composed of Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somalia and Djibouti; broader definitions also include parts or all of Kenya, Sudan, South Sudan, and Uganda.”

Well, as I read this, I recognized a few of these names as having topped a recent list of countries with the highest levels of persecution for believers! So, I did some further searching and found the following information from Open Doors:

  • Somalia, at number 2, is in the “extreme” category, coming in only after North Korea in the persecution of Christians!

  • Eritrea is also “extreme” at number 4.

  • While Ethiopia is ranked 39th, it is still considered to be in the “very high” persecution range.

  • If you want to include the broader area of the Horn, then Sudan comes in at number 10, while South Sudan, Uganda, and Kenya do not have any persecution noted.

So, we can definitely conclude that the Horn of Africa is an area that has been very closed to the gospel. But oh how the Father will turn things around and make them “the senders of truth!”

Yes, Lord, we come into agreement with You on this, and we ask You to fill the believers there with might, courage, and boldness to stand upon the Truth of Who You Are! Hallelujah!

“And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you shall only go up and not down, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, being careful to do them, and if you do not turn aside from any of the words that I command you today, to the right hand or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.”
